They take in more pesticides relative to their body weight than adults in the food they eat and air they breathe.” Kids may be especially vulnerable to chemicals during important periods in development, when their brains and bodies are changing quickly the consequences of that may hit kids the hardest, and in unpredictable ways.,”

Top Five (5) List of Precautionary Principles to protect children from exposure to toxins while their endocrine system is developing. 1) Environmental Exposure – Ask for a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) BEFORE any spraying of home, school, parks, yard where your child may be exposed. Focus attention on MSDS Section 11 Toxicology – Demand the LEAST TOXIC alternative. 2) Environmental Exposure- Minimize environmental exposure by children to all lawn and garden pesticides. 3) Environmental Exposure- If painting a home or room, use VOC- FREE paints or solvents. VOC are Volatile Organic Compounds which are known to cause health problems in developing children. 4) Food Choices – Buy organic produce if at all possible. The fewer pesticide residues in food which a child consumes the better. 5) Food Choices- Ask for NON GMO foods especially in terms of DAIRY, BEEF, SOY, WHEAT, and CORN.
